| The 2010 NAMI Walk NAMI Arizona is a grassroots organization of individuals and families whose lives are affected by mental illness. Through education, advocacy, and support, we strive to eliminate the pervasive stigma of mental illness, effect positive changes in mental health services, and increase the public and professional understanding of mental illness. The WALK will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Tempe Town Beach Park. Live music, vendor fair and family fun for all! The Walk route is 2.96 mi around Tempe Town Lake, returning on the Mill Avenue Bridge. Our goal is to raise $200,000 with the support of over 3,000 walkers. Over 90% of all funds stay in Arizona! This is our signature annual fundraiser, and we invite you to partner with us. NAMI Walks is the perfect opportunity for consumer and family advocates to engage in a community-wide conversation about the truths of mental illness and recovery. With increasing interest and attendance, we are now beginning to dispel the myths around mental illness as we reach more member of our community with these positive messages.
