Alvernia hosts the biggest entry event ever

Packapalooza’s inaugural event attracts over 325 prospective students

Alvernia University is hosting the largest admissions event in its 63 year history, welcoming over 325 interested students Bachelor, graduate and accelerated bachelor Courses to his first Packapalooza event.

“As we seek to enroll another record-breaking class of incoming students for the third straight year, and given the excitement surrounding our new academic, athletic and student offerings, we were thrilled to welcome the nearly 1,000 guests to our first on-campus Packapalooza event,” said Alvernia University’s senior vice president of enrollment and student affairs Mary Alice Ozechoski. “The attendance at today’s event is over 50% higher than at any previous open house event. Our attendees were welcomed by the entire Alvernia family and had the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with those who make the transformative Alvernia experience possible.”

Packapalooza was designed as a fully customizable open-hour experience to allow prospective students to choose the tours, seminars and workshops that suit their interests and needs, as well as learn about all the resources and support available to them at Alvernia. The event also included private meetings with faculty members, FAFSA support, food trucks and a coffee with the President at the university’s new site in downtown Reading 401 Pennstr.

Alvernia welcomed its two largest incoming classes 2020 and 2021 and recently earned honors for helping First generation college students and the audience award for higher education in Berks County.

By the Reading College Towne and Pottsville College Towne initiatives, Alvernia expands its academic offering, including the engineering programs and a Master of Medical Science in the medical assistant course, and is a catalyst for economic activity in the communities it serves. CollegeTowne initiatives have resulted in many new strategic partnerships that allow students to engage in new experiential learning opportunities through service learning, internships and study abroad experiences.
