Councilor son Joe Carlucci announces candidacy for Jacksonville city council seat

JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – Joe Carlucci, a son of Councilor Matt Carlucci, announced Monday that he is running for the Jacksonville City Council seat, which covers District 5.

In a press release, Joe Carlucci said his priorities will be on growing the economy, attracting new jobs, and promoting tourism to the community.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to write the next chapter for our city. Jacksonville’s families and companies urgently want honest, energetic leadership and vision in City Hall – with more collaboration. I am committed to being an accessible voice for our community, ”said Carlucci in a prepared statement.

District 5 of Jacksonville extends from Southbank east to Cesery Boulevard and includes areas south to Sunbeam and Old St. Augustine Streets.

Joe Carlucci is the owner of a Brightway Insurance Agency based in District 5. He has held executive positions with the San Marco Merchants Association, the JAX Chamber and Champs. He and his wife live with their two children in the Miramar district.


His father, Matt Carlucci, announced in December that he would no longer run as the next mayor of Jacksonville in 2023.
