EmpowerTulsa Begins Work on New Community Hope Center – FOX23 News

TULSA, Oklahoma – EmpowerTulsa will be holding the groundbreaking ceremony for their new Community Hope Center on December 6th.

EmpowerTulsa, a Lilyfield program, is focused on preventing circumstances that lead families to meddle in the child welfare system. They do this by working to transform communities and families into better environments for children to thrive in.

The program focuses its efforts in northern Tulsa and areas where children are highly fostered.

Lilyfield is a local not for profit that provides services in four areas: adoption, foster care, family strengthening, and child abuse prevention. According to their website, LilyField’s long-term vision is to ensure that children in our community have safe and healthy homes where they can be cared for and develop to their full potential.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the new building on North Peoria Avenue. The building needs a complete renovation.

“We are renovating this property into a new, bright, beautiful and inviting space. This conveys to children and families that they are seen and valued and that we are committed to investing in their healing and persistence over the long term, “said Holly Towers, Executive Director of Lilyfield.

After the renovation, the center will host psychological counseling, case management and support groups. There will be after-school programs, mentoring, food, and other resources that are free for families in the community.

The building is scheduled to open in 2022.
