Did you know East Bay Nosh is over nine years old? We wrote our first story in 2012 (it was about Oliveto’s truffle eating) and since then we’ve been publishing thoughtful and original reports with features, news, lists and guides that consider the human and cultural elements of food and dining as it relates to our East Bay community. One thing we haven’t done yet is find out who you are. We’ll fix this, but we need your help.
Here’s some of Nosh’s backstory in case you didn’t know: We’re the only food publication in the Bay Area solely focused on the East Bay, and we’re a part of it Cityside Journalism Initiativethe nonprofit community news organization that holds power Berkeleyside and The Oaklandside. Nosh stories (we publish four or five a week) are syndicated in all Cityside publications and featured on these outlets’ homepages, social feeds and in their newsletters.
Every story we write is free to read. Our popular daily newsletter is also free. So if you click on a link there or from ours own Instagram account, Facebook site or Twitteryou will never hit a paywall.
Reader donations are one of the most important ways we get our work done. But we know that this is not feasible for everyone. Here’s another way you can help: Now and until April 4th We’re conducting a poll open to all Nosh readers, no matter where you live. The information we collect helps our revenue team sell advertising, helps our fundraisers explain Nosh’s readership to donors, and helps our editorial team make strategic decisions.
