They allow the Federation and its family of agencies to help so many

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us at the inaugural Love Impact Awards last week. Although inclement weather has forced us to postpone FedFest 100, it will be rescheduled soon. I am so grateful for your support of our Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey – and for the impact each of you is making in our community. It was really heartwarming to see so many people at the Love Impact Awards. We’re also looking forward to celebrating FedFest 100 with the community.

On June 9th, the Love Impact Awards honored the memory of Donald N. Love, z”l, a beloved community leader whose loss we still feel every day. Always leading by example, Don was a true visionary for our South Jersey Jewish community. When Don was with us, hardly a day or week went by that I didn’t turn to him for help, advice, or brainstorming. Don taught me that volunteers provide us with their expertise and it’s up to us to engage our volunteers, learn from them and make sure we value their time and energy.

For this inaugural event in memory of Don, we honored those in our community who are following in his footsteps, innovating and making a difference in the sacred work they are doing in each of our spheres of activity. Mazel is pleased to announce this year’s award winners: Zev Rose-Older Adults; Brad Molotsky special needs; Richard Goldstein-Global Connections; Alison Bell germ community engagement; Miriam Feldman – Community Engagement; and Evan Zweben Family & Youth. We are very grateful for the work each of you is doing in our South Jersey Jewish community. Your passion and commitment shine through in everything you do.

We will also mark the milestone of 100 years of Jewish Federation in our South Jersey community with a community-wide festival event on a new date to be announced soon. Along with our family of agencies, local synagogues, day schools and community organizations, we will share the 100 year history of this very special organization. I look forward to music, games, food, giveaways and family fun. During the program we will host special reunions for some of our groups: Former Agency Executives and Presidents, Women’s Department, Jewish Professional Women, Young Leadership Council and Federation Leadership Institute.

Words cannot truly express my gratitude to all who have made our Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey what it is today. Because of your strength, your commitment and your vision, we are the strong agency family that we are today. Because of you and your time, guidance and financial support, we impact the lives of tens of thousands of people every year. So thank you. I look forward to the next 100 years and to building on what you all helped create.
