Wollondilly Council appoints CEO for next five years

Wollondilly Shire Council has appointed Ben Taylor as CEO for a further five years from July 2022.

Mayor Matt Gould said Mr Taylor has shown exemplary leadership at a challenging time and has the full support of the elected council to lead the organization for years to come.

“Ben has transformed the Council since joining us in 2019 and continues to show a genuine passion for Wollondilly and our community.”

“His leadership of the organization through bushfires, flooding and Covid has been outstanding, but it has been his ability to build employee engagement and integrity and improve organizational performance that has made the greatest difference to our community.”

“In just three years we have gone from a real low to the top 10% of employee engagement councils and this translates directly to proven performance improvement and high quality of service.”

“Under Ben’s leadership, Council has completed a vast array of new capital work across the Shire, hired more operations crews, invested in modern facilities and equipment, reduced our infrastructure backlog, launched a digital customer service portal, improved DA investigation times, established a concierge service for business investments and cared for our employees and community during challenging times.”

“There is still work to be done, but we are already getting stronger and seeing faster response to road repairs, maintenance blitzes across the Shire, have a fully funded long-term financial plan and investment program and a refreshed organizational framework to effectively manage our growth going forward be able.”

“By working with Ben, we also have a great plan to improve our assets, especially our roads, and transform our services to the highest standard.”

Ben Taylor thanked the Council for their strong confidence in supporting him to continue in his role.

“For the past almost three years, I have found this role extremely rewarding and challenging.

“Wollondilly is a wonderful place full of great people with an extraordinary future ahead of us. The next phase is heavily focused on getting our infrastructure up to the standard expected by the community and also shaping the future growth that is coming our way to make Wollondilly even better.

“I am honored to lead the organization through this exciting time,” said Mr. Taylor.
